Conveyancing is the legal work involved to complete a property transaction. New Zealanders have always valued the private ownership of real estate, particularly the family home. For most of us it represents our single biggest investment. And let’s face it when you are buying or selling – it is more than a financial matter. There is a very real emotional element to it. There’s a lot at stake!
At the mobile lawyer we recognise this. Our role is to protect your investment, to look after you and your interests. We understand the law, all the necessary steps in the process and how to avoid the numerous pitfalls! When you engage us you tap into a wealth of experience, you get the benefit of efficient systems and specialist independent advice.
Here are some of the things we do for you:
- Preview a contract and advise you before you sign - this is so important we will often do this at no extra charge to you! Why not ring and ask? At the very least, tell your agent to fax a draft copy of the Agreement to us and call us from anywhere in NZ on 0800-LAW NOW…
- Draft special conditions to insert into the Agreement – it’s too late to do this after you’ve signed!..
- Check the title and order a LIM report - advise you regarding the implications of easements, land covenants, building & planning issues…
- Assist with application for loan finance - liaising with your banker or broker, extending conditional dates if necessary & explaining loan and security documents to you..
- Advise regarding ownership options – including joint ownership, tenants in common, family trust and LAQC…
- Complete settlement and conveyance of title – these days this is done electronically, on the day of settlement, through Land On-line
We believe it’s just common sense to have a specialist property lawyer on your side - overseeing your interests every step of the way. This is not the place for short-cuts, penny pinching and loading up extra stress! Rather, it should be a rewarding and positive experience. We view it as a privilege to fulfil this role with excellence and for all standard transactions work for a fixed price fee.
